  • 1943 - Bobby Fuller was born (I Fought The Law)
  • 1964 - EMI records rejects the band “Hi-Numbers” after a test session. The band later renames themselves to “The Who”. (I bet EMI was kicking themselves for that one later on).
  • 1966 - The Beach Boys hit #1 in the US with “Good Vibrations“.
  • 1969 - Paul McCartney makes an official statement that he did not die after rumors were circulating about the Beatles’ death.

  • 1917 - Dizzy Gillespie (fameous trumpeter) was born.
  • 1946 - Lee Loughnane (Chicago) was born.
  • 1957 - Elvis’ “Jailhouse Rock” movie was released in the US - the 45 of the same name is also #1
  • 1972 - Chuck Berry’s “My Dingaling” hits #1
  • 1978 - The Ramone’s fourth album, “The Road To Ruin” is released - it contains songs such as “I Wanna Be Sedated” and “I Just Want to Have Something to Do“.
  • 1995 Shannon Hoon (Blind Melon) died.
