Today’s rock history:

  • 1950 - John Curulewski (d. 2/1988) was born (one of the founding members of Styx)
  • 1962 - Tommy Lee was born (Motley Crew)
  • 1969 - Gwen Stefani was born (No Doubt / Solo)
  • 1980 - Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits goes on sale - it is the #1 album of all times (the first of how many?)
  • 1984 - Twisted Sister’s Stay Hungry album is certified as a platinum selling album including hits like We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock.
  • 1990 - MTV Europe launches in Iceland to over 15,000 homes (Too much is never enough)
  • 2000 - Benjamin Orr died (from The Cars - bass player also sang hits like Just What I Needed, Let’s Go, and Drive
