  • 1963 - Karl Mueller (Soul Asylum - bass) was born.
  • 1974 - In response to Neil Young’s “Southern Man“, Lynyrd Skynyrd releases their hit “Sweet Home Alabama“.
  • 1976 - After 3 years of red tape, John Lennon is finally given a green card allowing him to stay in the USA.
  • 1976 - Tina Turner finally separates from Ike.
  • 1993 - “Siamese Dream” by the Smashing Pumpkins is released.
  • 1994 - Bob Seger serves as foreman of the jury in the trial of Louis C Rossman (they find him guilty of bank fraud).
  • 2001 - Lynyrd Skynyrd’s bassist, Leon Wilkerson, died in Ponte Verda Beach, FL from cirrhosis of the liver.
  • 2007 - Green Day appears (animated, of course) in the Simpson’s Movie. Before their demise in a polluted lake, they do perform a rocked out version of “The Simpson’s Theme“.
