  • 1946 - Fred Sheehan (Boston - bass) was born.
  • 1948 - Steven Victor Tallarico (a.k.a. Steven Tyler - Aerosmith - vocals) was born.
  • 1948 - Richard Tandy (ELO - keyboard) was born.
  • 1963 - Susanne Sulley (Human League) was born.
  • 1965 - It is announced that Jeff Beck will replace Eric Clapton of the Yardbirds. Eric left because he didn’t like the way the group was going.
  • 1968 - James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins - guitar) was born.
  • 1975 - The Who’s musica, Tommy, premiers in London, UK.
  • 1994 - “Superunknown” debuts at #1. The Soundgarden album represents a stylistic change. “I don’t see us as having any boundaries at all,” says Soundgarden’s bassist, Ben Shepherd. “If you have boundaries, it’s obviously some kind of personal complex.”

As for Who Do You KNow Famous, I don’t think there is any doubt that Bill Cosby should be #1. I won’t get into that here. The big debate is between #2 and #3. Don Shula and Larry the Cable Guy.

I have to put Larry the Cable Guy ahead of Shula. Here in south Florida everyone knows about Don Shula but if you leave south Florida (and I think Paul would have a hard time fathoming this) not many people know him. I sued to watch football back home and I didn’t even know who Shula was before I moved here.

Go up north to Boston, Chicago, go out west. I’m willing to bet more random people will know Larry over Shula.

Hulk Hogan - while famous, does not deserve to be in the top 3.
